Yadda Yadda Yadda, yes I have been talking about the amount of stuff going on this year. Seems that when one door closes, another opens up. I've also been distracted by many things including the kid. I came close to being a councilman but came up a wee bit short. It was a very good result for me seeing how I was a newcomer with no prior civic work outside of a few volunteer works and my platform was to take the power away from the big developers here. Most people get on committees for awhile, getting to know people, worming their way into the local politics and then running. Not me. I'm too impatient for that. I went straight for the jugular vein and tried to take on the big guys. I just liked it when they all sighed in relief when they saw that I came up a little short. I was looking very good at the beginning and then the others rallied at the end. But that won't stop old Dursy. Nope, now I get to join in on the various boards and commissions we have around here. The good ol' boy network IS slowly losing their powers. Their sons are not bright enough to keep the power because they keep getting caught with their britches down and their hands in the cookie jar.

Speaking of which, I have to say that those of you who told me that good things come to those who wait, I'm sorry and you were right. Everyone one of you who told me to hang in there were totally on the mark. I just found out this week that one of my former bosses who basically cost me full use of my left arm got caught sexually harrassing a fellow director. His wife found out and pitched a fit threatening the other director and everything. Of course the other director never asked for it and she complained about the harrassment and the threats. So my former boss was told that it would be a good idea if he found something very far away. (giggle)

With his departure, and his boss leaving in a couple of months due to retirement, and me adding pressure from my end, it won't be long until I have friends in place at my former job and they'll make sure that those who caused me so much grief last year don't get to stay there much longer.
